Core Body Conditioning
What is core body training?

The "core" actually consists of many different muscles that stabilize the spine and pelvis and run the entire length of the torso. These muscles stabilize the spine, pelvis and shoulder and provide a solid foundation for movement in the extremities. Core conditioning exercises target all these muscle groups. The muscles of the core make it possible to stand upright and move with agility on two feet. These muscles help control movements, transfer energy, shift body weight and move in any direction. A strong core distributes the stresses of weight-bearing and protects the back.

Private instruction
In my one on one training sessions we work with large soft balls called balance or Swiss balls, medicine balls of varying weights, balance pillows, pull up bars, elastic bands and other balance apparatus.  Some exercises do not require equipment and involve static body positions where participants use their own body weight.

Core training is essential for people seeking to increase low back strength, overall body awareness, flexibility, better balance and agility.   Teenage athletes through mature adults benefit from this type of training on various levels.  Whether you are a golfer, tennis player, track athlete or someone simply wanting to strengthen and get to know your body better core training is for you!

Format of training sessions
Sessions start with yoga inspired stretches as a warmup and move to circuits of various core drills that are performed in order.  Following the circuits we move to abdominal and back training, followed by a light stretching session.
